At the recent annual meeting of Hovis Limited the chairman was able to show that the balance available from Profit and Loss account constituted a record in the company's history. Moreover, the year was an important one to the company in the matter of the acquisition of the firm of Messrs. Humphries and Bobbett, of Bristol. The chairman stated that with - a centre especially- in such an important , and popular industrial area as Bristol, not only would large sums be saved in travelling and distribution expenses, but the board expected to increase greatly the sales of the com- pany's product.
