Royal Over-Seas League Special half-year rates for Spectator readers

Sir Evelyn Wrench, who founded the Royal Over-Seas League in 1910, later became the chief proprietor and editor of The Spectator. With this link in mind, special arrangements have been made whereby Spectator readers may join the League at reduced subscription rates and need pay only 50% of the usual entrance fee.

The London clubhouse, comprising two period houses, is in a prime location bordering Green Park and has a private garden, al fresco dining, restaurant, buttery for light meals, bar, drawing room, 72 en suite bedrooms and seven conference and private dining rooms. The Edinburgh clubhouse is centrally situated on Princes Street.

Benefits of membership include economical pricing due to not-for-profit status, varied events programmes, quarterly journal, discounts on certain cruises and tours, in-house art exhibitions and concerts, evening speakers and short term access to over 50 other clubs around the world in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, South Africa, Kenya, Gibraltar, Spain, Canada and elsewhere.

Spectator readers can enjoy specially discounted joining fees which range from 121 (resident overseas) to £49 (resident within a 50 mile radius of Charing Cross, London) for the period July December 2001 and the subscriptions are also reduced.
