Baptism to bordeaux

Sir: Craig Brown doesn't think Anglicans take christenings seriously (Diary, 16 February). I've no doubt he put all thoughts of salty-sand and high-speed work out of his mind at his son's baptism. But it's not beyond hope that some Anglicans might do the same. They could, then, of course, follow up the solemnities with the Château Meaume which I notice the dis- tinctly non-Anglican Auberon Waugh saw fit to offer at his son's wedding — a splendid idea. Do you think we might have more jolly wine offers, and less Papal Aggression?
