We have had a file of Bahama papers to the

8th of April. The Honourable John Irving, Receiver-General and Treasurer of the Colony, "very suddvitly," on the evening of the 7th of April. Mr. Irving was a native of Dumfries; and had resided at Nessitu. New Providence, for twenty years before his decease. A public meeting was held at Quebec on the 22d of April, for the purpose of devising means "to perpetuate the memory of the lamented Andrew Stuart, Esq." ; and it was resolved to erect a " public tablet or monument."

The St. Lawrence' was opened on the 25th of April, and twenty vessels entered the river.

Lieutenant-Colonel Lyster died suddenly at Montreal on the emit April.
