protest were made against bureaucratic interference with sport? Recently, both football and dog- racing have, by Government order, been confined to Saturdays. The pony-racing course at Northolt was compulsorily acquired for housing, and now one reads that the Walthamstow Borough Council wish to deal similarly with their dog-racing stadium. There is no venue in this country for motor racing. If no voice is heard in protest, one may well wonder how long it will be before we are affronted with " pre-fabs " on the wicket at Lord's or the, pitch at Twickenham.—I an,, Sir, yours
