Team spirit

IT WOULD be fun, I think, to work for Holmwoods, the insurance broker and mar- ket leader in the insurance of schools, whose managers have raised £33 million to buy it out of Brown Shipley. Heading the buyout and chairing Holmwoods is Colin Ingleby-Mackenzie, remembered as a spir- ited captain of the Hampshire County Cricket Club. In his first season as captain, he led his side to the championship on a declared policy of wine, women and song — everybody back in the hotel by breakfast time. Asked what ideas were planned for the next season, he said that a more serious approach would be in order. He would cut back on the singing.
