HOW TO MAKE A PEERAGE GO FURTHEST.

Louts PHILIPPE'S Ministers have set a glorious example of official economy. A creation of Peers was intended, and the names of the Peers were almost authoritatively announced. Those persons, of course, would be bound to Ministers for the coming session ; but what a waste of the coin of Court favour ! Ministers take second thought, and postpone their creation until after the discussion on their whole policy in the Chambers. This is the true economy : every supporter will set himself down for a peerage, and each one prize will attract many gamblers for it. As if to show practically that the competition is open to all, Ministers ham made one sample Peer—M. JAUDERT, an Oppositionist.
