For the Sake of a Friend. By Margaret Parker. (Blackie

and Son.)—This story of life in a girls-school, a continuation, some readers will be interested to know, of "Ida Cameron," by the same author, is more successful than most of its kind, as far as our experience goes. There is no foolish sentiment about it ; the girls act and talk naturally, the bad ones are not extravagantly wicked nor the good supernaturally excellent. The tale will probably be not the less attractive on account of the novelty of the scene which is laid in Australia.
