Lobby Lyrics-3

Jim Pettispite was one of those MPs who, when the chance arose, Would call for stringent measures to Impoverish the well-to-do (A term by which, I fancy, Jim Meant any better off than him). And so he cheered the Budget, which Was guaranteed to soak the rich, Although he thought it was a bore To find it also drowned the poor.

"But still," said Jim, "you cannot make

.An omelette, if you do not break An egg or two. We can't avoid An ever-growing unemployed, Whilst clobbering the upper class; And, though we've somehow lost, alas, The golden eggs that might have paid 'em, At least we've cooked the geese who laid 'ern."
