Sir: As a public relations man myself, may I say

how much I enjoyed Richard West's exposé of the role of PR function (16 October). I must say it almost fooled me—

I thought when I started to read it that it was a serious review of a new book (the merits of which I cannot argue on the basis of his selected extracts); but I realised a little over halfway through that Mr West was trying to amuse us with his own style of out rageous over-writing, exaggeration, and mischievous sense of fun.

It was a good read. Congratulations. Nigel Rowe Avenue J. F. Leemans 52, Brussels 1160, Belgium
