Sir John James Macdonald HORLICK, 5th Bart., of Howberry Lane Cottage, Nuffield, Henley on Thames, Oxon., former deputy chairman of the family firm Horlick Ltd. until it was taken over in 1971, and chairman of Highland Fish Farmers 1978-85, died on 20 February last, aged 73, leaving estate valued at £3,442,937 gross, £3,398,635 net. He left £10,000 to Gairloch High School, Ross- shire, for a bursary, to enable a senior pupil to pursue a university degree in history or ancient or modern languages, £5,000 to the Coldstream Guards Regi- mental Lieutenant Colonels' Fund, £1,000 to the Council of St John's for Berkshire, and his collection of modern soldiers of famous Corps of the World together with the showcase in which part of the collection is displayed to his son James for life and then to the National Army Museum or such other institution as his Trustees decide to form the 'Sir John Horlick Collection'.
