THE QUEEN has kept Christmas at Windsor Castle very quietly. Among her Majesty's guests have been the Prince of Wales, the Count de La- vradio, Lord John Russell, Mr. H. F. Howard, and the Prince and Princess of Leiningen.

The Queen, the Prince Consort, the Princess Alice and the Prince of Wales, have taken walking and riding exercise as usual.
