We have to notice a very pretty edition of Lockhart's

Spanish Ballads '(Murray), and the re-issue of a tale, Netherton-on-Sea (Tinsley), by E. M. Alford, of which the Dean of Canterbury is editor, and, indeed, joint author. The chief interest of the story lies in the introdnction of a sketch of the "Curd d'Ars," to whose marvellous skill and wisdom as a director of consciences such strong testimony has been borne by men of other faith than his.
