We desire to support very strongly the appeal published in

last Saturday's Times with regard to local memorials to King Edward. The letter signed by Lord Eversley, president of the Commons and Footpaths Preservation Society, and by representatives of similar bodies, pointed out that "an open space, a beautiful spot, a notable ruin, a, building rich in historic associations, remains a perpetual joy to the district in which it is situate, and a lasting and conspicuous memorial of the King with whose name it is associated."
