ASKE'S HATCHAM SCHOOL WAR MEMORIAL. (To THE EDITOR or THE

" SPECTATOR."] Sia,—A joint committee, representing the boys, past and pre- sent, of Aske's Hatcham School, has raised £1,000 for the erection of a memorial to the many old boys who fell in the War. The memorial will take the form of a permanent pavilion in the school playing field. A tablet bearing the names of the gallant dead will be placed in the school. It is estimated that about 41,500 in all will be needed to complete the scheme. We shall be very grateful if you will permit us, through your columns, to ask those Old Askeans whom the committee has been unable to trace to send their subscriptions without delay to the honorary treasurer, Mr. F. IL Harper, 37 Sefton Road, Addiscombe, or to the honorary secretary, Mr. John Lees, 127 Pepys Road, New Cross, S.E. 14.—We are, Sir, &c., R. BLAIR, Chairman of Committee.
