[To the Editor of DIE SPECTATOR.] SIR,—While herrings are thrown back into the sea and British beer is so abominably overtaxed that it is now almost dele- terious in quality, I cannot see how we can expect anything but malnutrition. No doubt, however, the Government could do more to encourage domestic production.—Yours, &c.,
