The Reverend Mr. CONNOP one of the most distin-

guished scholars of the University of Cambridge, and the translator of Nicauna, nuts been dismissed from his office of Classical Lecturer, and called upon to resign his Fellowship, in consequence of having written it pamphlet in which the admission of Dissenters to University honours was advocated. This has been done at the instance of Dr. CnnisTornen. Wohnswormr, Master of Trinity College ; who is well known to be as inferior to Mr. THIRLWALL in point of scholarship, as this proceed- ing shows hint to be in liberality and foresight.
