Setting the Pace

Very different accounts have been given of the Italian prisoners now working on English farms. Here is one of the more compli- mentary sort. A fellow-worker on a very first-class farm col.- fessed to being unusually weary at the end of the day ; anon this was his reason : "You see, we had to keep up with two Italians who were working with us! " Comments were made also on the great muscular strength of these men, and their desire to take on the jobs that exercised such power.
