Mr. Asquith dissented from the proposal to refer the Irish
problem to President Wilson. Yet another effort ought to be made at home to achieve an Irish settlement. Mr. Boner Law was well justified in saying at the end of the discussion that he had never listened to so unreal a debate. In his opinion, it was impossible at present to put any farm of Home Rule into force.
