Youth Wins. By Muriel Hine. (John Lane. 7s. 6d. net.)

—A comedy of manners staged in a French watering-place and containing two elderly ladies—one delightful, the other most unpleasant. The ron.ance of Joceline Verney and Oliver Trench is seen through the eyes of the attractive old woman. It is an interesting story, but we are not convinced that even a pleasure-loving elderly lady would actually commit suicide in order to have her own way in stopping her daughter's marriage.
