Pornographer's dilemma

Sir: Pornography is so dull, sex is fun or it is nothing Therefore I have no sympathy with John Rowan Wilson's contacts (2(1 December) who, because of age or dis- ability, are unable to go out and collect new material. In real life the snatched zipper too often catches in a painful place, in litera- ture never! except in bawdy stories.

Porno makes for discontent; the staid married commuter. the neglected housewife. wonder what they are missing. Bawdy makes people laugh. thus promoting social stability In bawdy. the positions are just as impos• sible. the victims (usually women) just as sexually ill-used. but no harm is done. for no one takes it seriously. Moreover, the material can be collected vicariously—I was able to comnile Rugby Jokes (Sphere 5s) without undoing a button, and it sells fantastically To have made nearly a quarter of a million laugh (almost a thousand of them women?) is no mean contribution to civic wellbeing. and I am expecting to be made a Justice of the Peace.
