SATURDAY NIGHT.

A balance of Whig and Tory gain or loss in the elections is con- tinually being struck on either side ; but it is as continually shifting with the fresh announcements which come in by all the avenues to London. Last night the balance was against the Whigs, by the amount of ten seats, equal to twenty votes: today, at the hour when it became neces- sary to close our table of returns in the second page, it was less un- favourable to them, being reduced to five seats, or ten votes.
