The - Emperor of the French is said to be well

satisfied with Algeria, which he declares, has a future, and he is- encouraging a company with a capital of 4,000,0001., partly guaranteed by the State; which is to be expended on improvements and colonization. The colonists expect great things from the company, which, how- ever, has to find first the money, then the colonists, and then some spot in Algeria where such settlers as it can obtain will not be governed to death.
