The motion for going into Committee was carried by 152

votes to 7; Sir Colman O'Loghlen's amendment, limiting the power to suspend Habeas Corpus to one year instead of two, was negatived by a majority of 52 (60 votes against 8) ; Mr. Bagwell's amend- ment to omit the Press clauses for the (continued) Peace Preserva- tion Act, was rejected by a majority of 44 (55 votes against 11), and the Bill then passed through Committee.
