Weather is one thing that the astronaut does not have

to contend with. The Question and Answer Book of Space, by Ruth A. Sonneborn (Odhams, 10s. 6d.), is a profusely illustrated account, in simple terms (eight to eleven), of what it is like in space; how rockets and space- ships work; the training and life of an astro- naut and, looking into the future, the first landings on the moon and the development of space stations. One obvious question omitted : lavatory facilities. In the same 'Question and Answer' series is The Human Body, by Ann McGovern, covering the whole structure: cells, bones, muscles; skin, senses, nerves; digestion, breathing and the heart. There are also useful little snippets on such things as the funny-bone and hiccups.
