the %pectator

June 2, 1866 .

The Bavarian King, a lad over educated for his intellect, with a passion for music and mystical ideas, has been indulging himself in an escapade. He was missing last week for tivo days. and was at last discovered by his half- frantic Court riding about on a mountain ridge, where it is supposed he had gone to meet Herr Wagner, the "composer of the future." The Cabinet threatened to resign unless he came back, and he returned, none the worse for his dreamy experience. What with dreamers, corporals, pedants, sovereigns addicted to morganatic arrangements, and sovereigns who revive the stick, Germany must feel that its constitution admits of all events of great variety in excellence.
