Wiff of the week

Sir Francis John Watkin WILLIAMS, 8th Bart, QC, of Llys, Middle Lane, Denbigh, Clwyd, a former Recorder of Birkenhead, Chester and the Crown Court, chairman of Anglesey and Flintshire Quarter Sessions, High Sher- iff of Anglesey and Denbighshire, and a Freeman of Chester, died on Jan. 3rd last, aged 89, leaving estate valued at £277,719 gross, £274,488 net.

He left £500 to the Junior of the Chester Bar Mess 'with thanks for the very long and happy memories starting in 1928' for such use as the Leader and the Junior shall decide, £1,000 each to St Margaret's Church, Bodelwyddan, the Church at St Nefydd in the Parish of Llannefydd, and the Barristers' Benevolent Society, £500 each to the Parish of Llanddyf- nan, for Talwrn Church, Llaneugrad Church, Anglesey, Dean William's Library, St Asaph, the Friends of Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, Save the Children Fund, Rhyl Branch, the Old Malvernian Society and Samaritans, and £250 to Bylchau Church, near Den- bigh.
