In the Council of State on Thursday, February 23rd, Sir Sankaran Nair made another powerful speech in behalf of co-operation before the adoption of the favourable motion. On Sunday morning the Commission reached Madras. They received a Warm welcome from the MOslems and the Depressed Classes, who decked the members with garlands. There was 'no hartal nor any hostility shown, though the Hindu community seems to have held somewhat aloof: The. -Swarajist members did not attend the sitting of the Legislature on Tuesday when the Commission was present. But on the whole the reports are certainly . _ . cheering. * * * *
