It is a pity that the Prime Minister has had

to cancel his engagement to speak in Westminster Abbey on Tuesday after all. What has happened, I understand, is that Mr. MacDonald has found that the strain of his immediate duties from Stresa onwards has been such as to leave him no opportunity of giving adequate time and thought to the preparation of the Abbey address. That is intelligible enough, but it means the abandonment of what would shave been one of the most interesting features in all the Jubilee celebrations.
