Apology and correction We apologise to lain Crichton Smith for

the grave mistake of omitting the last three lines of the English translation he supplied to his Gaelic poem, printed on page 26 of last week's Scottish Special Issue. Instead of the full stop after 'girl', the English version should have ended:

in a wind that will not die and will dry my tears when it blows on me.
