The Royal Adelaide steam-vessel, from Leith, took fire off Aid-

'borough, on Monday evening, in consequence of the ignition of a package, the contents of which have not yet been ascertained. The fire was soon extinguished without much injury to the vessel; but a part of the cargo, consisting chiefly of periodical publications (Black- wood and Tait included), was seriously damaged by water.
