Srit,—Ovid's saying regarding the Roman ladies of his day is, I think, peculiarly applicable to the wearers of the matinee hat of the present time : Spectatum veniunt, veniunt spectentur ut ipsae ; or, in case my lady readers may not have learned Latin—or have no son at school—freely translated it may be expressed : " They come to the show in order to show them-
