Ponsonby has jotted down some very practical hints to the novice in campaigning; Every Briton's War Book (Motherland League, 6d.), a concise dictionary of things useful to know; The German Army from Within (Hodder and Stoughton, 2s. net), an un- flattering picture of the Prussian military system by a British officer, who assures us he has served in the German Army ; How Germany Hakes War (same publishers, 2s. net), a con- densed version of General von Bernhardi's well-known treatise; War and the Financial System, by J. M.
