Manual of Fruit Insects. By M. V. Slingerland and C.

R. Crosby. (Macmillan and Co. 8s. 6d. net.)—This manual deals with the insects which attack various fruit-crops in the United States. It was begun by the late Professor Slingerland, of Cornell University, and completed after his death by one of his colleagues. As the annual loss to American fruit- growers from the depredations of insects is over thirteen millions sterling, the utility of such a clear account of these insects and of the remedies is obvious.
