SIR. WALTER Scorr.

This distinguished person, we understand, left Abbotsford, on Saturday, to fulfil his purpose of spending the winter at Naples. He embarks for Malta, on board the Barham, of fifty-two guns, Captain Pigot. His Majesty, in the kindest and handsomest manner, we are given to believe, tendered this mode of conveyance to the worthy Baronet. Sir Walter, before leaving home, finished the whole notes and introductions to his celebrated novels, now in the course of so successful a career. We can speak with some authority on this last point, having seen a proof of one of the last of the introductions with the author's corrections.
