Switzerland seems to be still in a very disturbed state.

The troubles in the canton of Basle have at length attracted the atten- tion of the cantons at large; and the insurgents there are threat- ened with public vengeance if they do not return to the paths of legal and orderly obedience to their betters. Deputies have beech sent to Basle to arrange between the Government and the insur- gents ; but with what success, does not yet appear. The forces of the latter are estimated at two thousand men.
