Great Historic Events. (W. and R. Chambers.)—These narratives, selected from

" Chambers's Miscellany," are six in number :—" The British Conquest of India," "Story of the Indian Mutiny," "France : its Revolutions and Misfortunes," "The Crusaders," "The Conquest a Mexico," and the "Narrative of the Russian Campaign." All these seem to be executed in a meritorious way, as one might expect, considering the source from which they come. We have only to suggest that in a future edition a list, which need not be at all elaborate, of principal authorities consulted should be given. These epitomes of history are chiefly useful when they suggest a more detailed study.
