The meeting at Dorchester on Thursday resolved to erect a

statue to the Dorset poet, the Rev. W. Barnes, and to devote the residue of the fund raised for this purpose to the establishment of a Barnes Exhibition, tenable at the Dorchester Grammar School. We are very glad that the personal memorial is to be insisted on, and only hope that the statue will be worthy of our modest Southern Burns.
