President Wilson has accepted the invitation of the Council of

the League of Nations to act as a mediator, with Spain and Brazil, between Armenia and the Turkish insurgents headed by Mustapha Kemal. America, he said, was specially interested

in the Armenians. He could not offer to help Armenia with arms or money, as Congress was not sitting, but he would use his good offices and proffer his personal mediation through an American representative to end the war in Armenia.
