The good people of Paris, and of France generally, have

not afforded us, either for good or for evil, a single item of news worth recording during the course of the week ; for we hardly suppose, seeing we have so much of that at home, that we shall be ex- pected to give a summary of their debates in Parliament. The Constitutionnel says, that England and France have entered into a treaty of alliance offensive and defensive. We fear that neither is prudent enough for so judicious a measure.
