Last night's Gazette notifies that the Queen has appointed William

Murray, Esq. of Henderland, to be one of the Board of Supervision for Relief of the Poor in Scotland, in the room of Sir John M'Pherson. Grant, deceased. There is no foundation for the statement of a contemporary that the Marquis of Thomond will succeed Sir Bladen Capel as Port Admiral at Portsmouth. The latter gallant officer's term of service will not expire for some months to come.—Globe.
