Marks and Monograms on Pottery and Porcelain. By W. Chaffers

F.S.A. (Davy and Sons.)—This volume contains an illustrated cata-

logue of the various marks and monograms by which porcelain mann- factarers of all countries have been in the habit of distinguishing their .prodactions, together with short historical notices of each manufactory,

and an introductory essay on the vases 'walla of England. The essay appears to us to be somewhat slight in texture, but the list of mono- grams is compiled with great care and research, and cannot fail to be of great service to the collector of old china.
