A proclamation for the prevention of the Chartist armed meetings

appeared in last night's Gazette. Her Majesty having "been given to understand," that in some parts of the country persons have "un- lawfully assembled" for the purpose of "being trained or drilled, or for the purpose of practising military exercise, movements, or evolutions," strictly commands "all Justices of the Peace, Sheriffs, Under-Sheriffs, and all other civil officers whatever," to use "their utmost endeavours to discover, apprehend, and bring to justice the persons concerned in these unlawful proceedings."
