A prospectus has been issued of the Import and Export

Provi- sion Company, with a capital of 100,0001., in 101. shares. The object of the company is to purchase the patent of Mr. Richard Jones for preserving meat, which they believe they can bay in Queensland at ld. per pound and sell in England at 6d. The pro- cess is said to be equally applicable to exports, and hams and bacon preserved by it are now sent to India and China.
