SIR,—It was good to read the names of the great

men of the News Chronicle who were Hubert Phillips's colleagues. May I add the names of three who wrote regularly for the Saturday Page in the 1920s—F. W. Thomas, a man of a rare and impish humour who wrote the weekly 'Merry-Go-Round,' 'Kuklos' (Fitzwater Wray), who contributed two columns a week for cycling enthusiasts and produced the Kuklos Annual, and T. R. Glover, the great Baptist layman, classical teacher and public orator of Cambridge, who wrote a weekly religious article that combined scholarship, evangelical purpose and a delightful wit.
