PEN NEW POEMS SIR,—For the past four years PEN antholo-

gies of new verse have appeared under the imprint of Messrs. Michael Joseph, and you have been kind enough to allow me to invite your readers to submit poems for considera- tion by the Editors. A fifth volume is now in preparation.

Manuscripts, accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope if return is desired in the event of their not being accepted, should be addressed to The Editors, New Poems : 1956. The PEN, 62-63 Glebe Place, London, SW3, and must be received not later than September 30, 1955. Poems which have appeared in book form cannot be considered, and each poet may submit three poems only. Payment will be made for all poems accepted. — Yours faithfully,

DAVID CARVER General Secretary, The PEN Glebe House, 62-63 Glebe Place, Chelsea, London, SW3
