The Book of Blockheads. By Charles Bennett (Low, Son, and

Co.)— A preparation for Christmas. Little children will be pleased with the humorous and yet artistic coloured prints which form the staple of the work. Edward the Esquire is really quite admirable for his expression of contented self-conceit. And as the text is quite an unimportant matter, it would be absurd to criticize it; but we think children care little for a story which has no meaning. Give them that, and they stick at no improbabilities.
