Great Painters of Christendom, from Cimabue to Wilkie. By Jahn

Forbes Robertson. (Cassell and Co.)—Here we have sketohes of the life and work of more than a hundred artiste, divided into the Italian, the Flemish, Dutch and German, the Spanish, the French, and the English schools. The illustrations number between two and three hundred, and are for the most Dart excellent. This is a good book, got up both within and without with the enterprise and taste which we are accustomed to look for in the publishers.—From the same house we have received a volume of a reissue of their well- known work, Picturesque Ewrope.
