tales, told by dogs and cats in propriis personis, and the woodcuts which illustrate them, are very good. The coloured illustrations are not an good, the colours being poor and unskilfully mingled ; but one of them is a delicious picture of a Skye-terrier in bed, with his littleonistress just about to administer a doge of medicine in a big spoon. On the whole, this is one of the best children's books of the year.
