Sin,—Referring to " Civilian Recruiting Agent's " letter in your last issue and your note thereon, may I say how entirely I agree as to the age-limits ? As to the standard of height, I would abolish it altogether, making fitness the sole test. Just at the time when the standard was raised to 5 feet 6 inches a man who had two brothers in the Army and had been rejected because he was only 5 feet 5i inches indignantly remarked, "Ain't I good enough for two Germans " And I think he was.
